Many congratulations to AFU members and Spirit of Grigsby Award winners John Cheung and Aim Wonghirundacha whose debut film, Blindside has been selected for screening next weekend at the Future of Cinema Film Festival in Interlochen, Michigan, USA. This is the first time an AFU film has been screened at a film festival in America.
The Festival provides a setting for high school filmmakers to meet professionals and peers, screen work and discuss trends and new developments in cinema. The Festival takes place from October 23 to 25 and is open to current high school students, ages 13-18. It includes awards for narrative, documentary and animation films as well as screenplays.
Although John and Aim won’t be able to attend the festival in person, they hope to experience some of the festival’s excitement via a live online webcast of the proceedings. Their film will be presented on Saturday 25 October as part of the “Future of Cinema Narrative Screening”.
